Admission, degree requirements, and scholarships

The renowned reputation of The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Hong Kong has attracted scholars from all around the globe to continue their academic studies and enhance their skills here in our Department. Opportunities are available for students pursuing degrees in masters (M.Phil) or doctoral (Ph.D) in the Medical Sciences or Biomedical Sciences. Applicants should hold an honours degree in BSc., MSc., or equivalent. Previous exposure or working experience in the Physical Sciences, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Occupational and Physical Therapy would be an advantage, though are not required. A minimum TOEFL score (or equivalent) of 550 must be achieved by those applicants with first-degree studies not conducted in English. The application deadlines for fall and spring studies are March 31st and July 31st respectively. The University supports over 800 of its research students with Postgraduate Studentships as well as Research Assistantship awarded for the period of study.
