The focus throughout this course will be surgically relevant topographical anatomy underlying the various surgical approaches in orthopaedic practice with emphasis placed on anatomical hazards and pitfalls encountered in these approaches

The focus is all the essential topics required for Basic Science for FRCS (Orth)

• Bone, cartilage ligament, tendon meniscus and nerve biology and pathology
• Biomechanics and biomaterials
• Essentials of the operating theatre environment
• Radiology
• Prosthetics and orthotics
• Metabolic bone disease
• Microbiology and infection
